I've written a little 'action script' for Sailing Clicker that lets me read BBC News headlines on my shiny new phone. At the mo' the stories are limited to 160 chars, but that seems enough for most of the short descriptions they offer. Although I haven't tried it with any other feed, there's no reason why it shouldn't parse RSS from other sites too.

It needs XMLTools2 - a dandy XML Applescript wrapper around expat. To install XMLTools2, just download the .hqx file, extract and copy XML Tools.osax to /Library/ScriptingAdditions. (The first version got the XML from a perl script, the Applescript version is - surprisingly to me - miles quicker.)

Download my script here.
